In December 2016 Malawi received their first downfalls of rain after a really dry year. Prior to this, the country had a year of really bad flooding, which meant that crops were ruined. So as you can imagine, when The Mlambe Project finally got rainfall in December it was a joyous and thankful moment for all!

Since December, we have been on track for an amazing harvest. Here are some pictures...

When the rains began...
Maize!

More maize

One of our delightful University of the People students Ernest, who is chuffed with his harvest so far.

"After two years of bad harvest this year we have had good rains so far, and so we will be able to harvest lots of maize and other crops like cotton and ground nuts" Ernest.

Even more maize!

As you can tell, the rain has proved wonders for the harvest in Malawi far. We cannot wait to see how it continues!
