Meeting with H.E.L.P. Malawi!
Planning the week ahead
Today we met with HELP Malawi’s country manager, Wells Sakala. He had met with the Mlambe chiefs earlier on in the week. He confirmed that the surrounding villages want to provide 20 people labour per day- as volunteers. We also discussed the idea of having four permanent experts to learn the earthbag building method. Assuming our car arrives from Dar Es Saalam by Monday we will start on Tuesday.
Meeting the Chiefs
Wells expressed how excited the community are for the project to begin. We have finalised the first two building and are well within budget. All we need to start is for the car to arrive!
Andrew Proctor, Mlambe Project Treasurer, arrived in Lilongwe today and will be auditing our accounts and visiting the project.
More updates next week.
