Arrival In Lilongwe

Touch down in Malawi...

Aidan Mosley and Jamie Proctor arrived in Lilongwe on 14th March. Since arriving we have been preparing as much as possible for the build. We have got quotes on our first building materials and are working hard to get the lowest possible prices. We will make our quotes available on our website in the coming days. It appears that we will be able to procure or materials more cheaply than expected, so we hope to be able to extend the buildings!

We have made contact with African Vision (Landerani) who are a Malawian NGO who have been building with rammed earth. We have been to visit Sam’s Village and see their buildings. It was very impressive. They have big plans for sustainable building and their model village is a great inspiration!

Tomorrow we are going to Sam’s Village and are taking earthbags, to make some benches. It will be a good start before we get to Mlambe. More updates will come tomorrow- with lots of photos!
